Watch: Making Tim Ho Wan’s Barbecue Pork Buns Without a Recipe

In no way am I trying to become a Michelin-starred chef in a single afternoon, but I am going to give it a shot by taking on Tim Ho Wan’s famous pork buns. Lauded as the world’s cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant — Tim Ho Wan is a chain based in Hong Kong that not too long ago opened its first New York location.

The restaurant is beloved for its dim dum offerings like steamed rice rolls, pork and prawn dumplings; and sticky rice with lotus leaf. Still, the favorite among them is the baked buns with barbecue pork. Usually, when we try to recreate something on You Can Do This, the first thing we do is consult the internet; but there are smartly no recipes for Tim Ho Wan’s pork buns online, so I’m going off of what I taste when I sample them.
